This morning a friend shared a video about an incredible man, Paul Smith, who created his masterpieces using only a few symbols on the typewriter. He was born with severe Cerebral Palsy and found this unique medium, in which to express himself. I was touched as I watched an interview with him. The interviewer expressed that he could never do what Paul was doing, to which Paul replied (with subtitles as his speech was indiscernible), “What can you do? ”

Our family has been discussing gifts and talents this week and I have been specifically pondering one of my child’s abilities and her future. This man has inspired me with great hope for her and reminded me that each of us carry the innate desire to create.
